Caregiver pilot programs
The Home Child-Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot are 2 economic pilot programs targeted to foreign national caregivers who
have a job offer or Canadian work experience in an eligible caregiver occupation
meet minimum education and language proficiency requirements.
Caregivers who meet all the requirements but do not have 24 months of Canadian work experience are issued an occupation-restricted open work permit.

Education:
Canadian 1-year post-secondary (or higher) educational credential or
foreign educational credential equivalent to the above and an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report issued by an organization designated by IRCC
Qualifying work experience:
Home Child Care Provider Pilot applicants must have qualifying work experience as home child care providers. Applicants must have provided in-home care to children under the age of 18, whether in their own home or in the employer’s or child’s home.
Home Support Worker Pilot applicants must have qualifying work experience as home support workers and related occupations.
Additional requirements for applicants who do not have at least 24 months of qualifying Canadian work experience:
