The Yukon Immigration Program targets skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates to support the territory's economic growth.
Applications exceed the Yukon’s 2024 allocations. The province will reopen application intake from all employers on January 29, 2025, at 9 am Yukon Standard Time. For 2025, an intake approach will be used. The province will accept up to 125 applications for the intake beginning on January 29.
Critical Impact Worker Stream
The Critical Impact Worker of the Yukon Nominee Program is designed for employers unable to find qualified Canadian citizens or permanent residents for specific positions. Only accept applications from employers.
Eligibility Criteria:
Employers: Must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, have a business operating for at least 1 year, and meet advertising and wage requirements.
Foreign Nationals: Must have a full-time job offer, relevant work experience (6 months for Critical Impact, 12 months for Skilled Workers), meet language proficiency, and have at least a high school diploma.
Employers and foreign nationals must submit various supporting documents for application. The process includes a screening and compliance review.
The Critical Impact Worker stream is for entry-level jobs in: TEER 4 and TEER 5 positions.
Yukon Community Program
The Yukon Community Program allows employers in eligible communities to offer a combination of part-time or seasonal jobs that total a full-time position (1,560 hours/year).
Eligibility Criteria:
Employers must be Canadian citizens/permanent residents, operate a registered business for at least 1 year, and cannot find qualified Canadian workers. They must provide a community support and mentor letter.
Foreign Nationals need a full-time job offer, a high school diploma, relevant work experience (6 months for TEER 4/5, 12 months for TEER 0-3), and meet language proficiency requirements (CLB 4-7 depending on the TEER).
Applications are submitted through employers, not foreign nationals.
